In 1977, whilst still a flute player in the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Richard McNicol founded the Apollo Trust with the aim of persuading orchestras to enter the world of education by taking part in creative music projects with pupils and their teachers in schools.
Since leaving the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 1981 to pursue this work full time, Richard McNicol has initiated and led hundreds of education projects and concerts with orchestras throughout the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia, Israel, Canada and the USA.[read full biography]
