THOMAS LARCHER is working on several new works to be premiered in 2011; an orchestral work commissioned by San Francisco Symphony, a double concerto for Victoria Mullova and Matthew Barley commissioned by the BBC Proms, a piano quintet for the Belcea Quartet and pianist Mihaela Ursuleasa commissioned by Wigmore Hall, Konzerthaus Vienna and Konzerthaus Dortmund.
ECM recently released a new disc of three major works - Madhares (String Quartet no.3), Still (viola and orchestra) and Bose Zellen (piano and orchestra).
MATTHIAS PINTSCHER completed his three-part cycle Sonic Eclipse this season with new works for New York Philharmonic and Klangforum Wien.
He is working on a new violin concerto for Julia Fischer and the London Philharmonic, co-commissioned by Alte Oper Frankfurt and Lucerne Festival, alongside a new work for Ensemble Intercontemporain.
MARK-ANTHONY TURNAGE His opera based on the life of Anne Nicole Smith premiered at the Royal Opera House on 17th February 2011 with six sold-out performances. 2009/10 saw the culmination of his two enormously successful and productive residencies at Chicago Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra, periods which gave birth to Chicago Remains, From All Sides, Texan Tenebrae, Hidden Love Song and Mambo, Blues and Tarantella.
